At Unicorn Academy, learning to ride is only the beginning. Each student must form a bond with a unicorn before the pair can use magic together. Sophia Mendoza arrives with questions about her father and soon has to protect the island while figuring out how to get along with her classmates.
The animated series began in 2023 and is adapted from the Unicorn Academy books written by Julie Sykes. The screen adventures give Sophia, Ava, Layla, Isabel, Valentina, and Rory distinct partnerships: their unicorns use light, plant, ice, water, fire, and weather magic. The friendships between the riders matter alongside those bonds.
Start with the original series’ opening adventure, which introduces the school and the six pairs. Our character guide matches every rider to their unicorn and explains the starting powers without giving away later discoveries. The series page also has scenes to help you recognize the cast.
The books, animated episodes, and shorter character videos offer different ways to visit the academy. Follow the episode order within the series when you want the ongoing story; a short introduction to a rider does not replace their first adventure.
