Bella Swan moves to Forks, Washington, and meets Edward Cullen at school. Their relationship introduces her to the Cullen family and the dangers surrounding vampires. Jacob Black becomes another important part of her life as the story expands beyond the Cullens. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner play the three leads in the films.
The movie sequence is Twilight (2008), New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012). The final novel became two movies, so the five-film saga follows the four central novels rather than five separate books.
Midnight Sun revisits Bella and Edward's first meeting through Edward's perspective. Stephenie Meyer's companion novel is the basis of an animated series announced by Netflix. That project retells the opening story; it is not a sixth film continuing after Breaking Dawn. The original films can be watched as a complete story without waiting for it.
