The first thing many Terraria players want from crossplay is simple: to join their friends. After Re-Logic said Crossplay Phase One is getting close, a fan on PlayStation wrote that they were looking forward to playing with a friend on PC. The reply thread quickly turned into a conversation about which devices already work together and which still need official support.
Re-Logic has not given a release date or a final list of supported platform pairings. That is important when a friend group is split across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and mobile. The September State of the Game says the team is preparing Phase One for submission, with Phase Two planned afterward.
Playing together is the main wish
The most enthusiastic comments are not about a technical label. They are about the worlds players have built separately and the people they want to invite in. One PlayStation player put it plainly:
Soon, I'll finally be able to play with my friend on pc.
Other fans praised Re-Logic for continuing to work on the game so many years after its first release.

The replies also show why Re-Logic needs to explain the release clearly. People use “crossplay” to mean different combinations of devices, and some commenters described workarounds or partial compatibility they have tried already. A personal setup is not proof that every platform will be supported at launch.
Mods are the other question
One Reddit user hoped that tModLoader might eventually reach consoles. Another wanted the current PC modding branch to catch up with the base game. These are fan wishes, not features Re-Logic announced for Crossplay Phase One.

The developer’s own update keeps the two tracks separate. The tModLoader team says work on its 1.4.5 version still has many months to go, while Re-Logic is preparing the base game’s first crossplay phase. Even after crossplay arrives, it would be a mistake to assume a modded PC world will suddenly run on a console.
For now, the community has one concrete update and several open questions. Phase One is close to submission, not released. The useful next announcement will be the one that confirms its date, supported platforms and steps for joining a friend’s world.
