The Kagurabachi anime has added two important voices to its cast. Miku Ito will play Hinao, while Miyari Nemoto will play Char Kyonagi. Both announcements arrived on August 28, with new character visuals and short trailers for each role.
The series is still on course for an April 2027 broadcast. That gives the production team time to introduce the rest of the cast, show more of the adaptation, and prepare the world-tour preview that was announced with the anime project.
Who is joining the Kagurabachi cast?
Miku Ito is voicing Hinao, the intermediary who works out of Cafe Haru Haru. Miyari Nemoto is voicing Char Kyonagi, the young girl whose arrival pulls Chihiro into another dangerous part of the story. The official anime site describes both characters as part of Chihiro’s early circle, so these are not distant casting announcements for characters audiences will meet much later.
What Hinao does in the story
Hinao is the person who connects people looking for sorcery with the sorcerers who can help them. That makes Cafe Haru Haru more than a friendly meeting place: it is one of the points where requests, rumors, and dangerous jobs enter Chihiro’s world.
The official character profile also says Hinao takes Char under her protection and introduces her to Chihiro and the others. Her role gives the anime a natural bridge between the everyday side of the setting and the sword-driven conflicts that define the series. She can explain how the world works without making Chihiro stop to deliver a speech about it.
Ito said Hinao was one of the characters who stood out to her when she first read the manga. The actor also described Cafe Haru Haru as a place she wants to make feel comforting in the anime. That is a useful detail about the tone the adaptation is aiming for: the story can be violent and supernatural, but it still needs quieter places and relationships to give those fights weight.
Char Kyonagi is more than a mystery
Char is introduced as a cheerful and courageous girl who is being pursued for a reason the anime has not fully explained yet. When Hinao asks about the people chasing her, Char says they have “the most strongest sword.” That unusual description helps lead her to Chihiro, whose own sword is tied to the central mystery of the series.
Char’s presence gives the opening story a personal stake beyond Chihiro’s revenge. She is not simply another person who needs rescuing; her history and the people hunting her are part of the larger conflict around enchanted blades. The adaptation can use that connection to move between a small character story and the bigger mythology without losing sight of either one.
Nemoto’s casting also gives the production a chance to define Char’s energy early. The official character trailer presents her as bright and open, which creates a strong contrast with Chihiro’s quieter, more guarded personality. That contrast is one of the reasons their first meetings work on the page, and the voice performances will shape how quickly the pairing clicks on screen.
The rest of the confirmed production team
The anime is being produced by Cypic. Tetsuya Takeuchi is directing, and Keigo Sasaki is handling character designs. Taihi Kimura was previously announced as the voice of Chihiro Rokuhira, the young sword user at the center of the story.

When will the Kagurabachi anime be available?
The Japanese broadcast is planned for April 2027, and Crunchyroll has confirmed a simulcast alongside the Japanese release. The current announcement covers streaming outside Japan, China, and Korea; regional availability can still change before the premiere.
The project also has an unusual way to build anticipation. The anime’s April announcement promised a world tour that will screen the first 20 minutes of Episode 1 at events around the world. The tour finale in Japan is planned to include the first complete screening of the episode, although dates and locations have not been posted yet.
That preview could answer a lot about the adaptation. Kagurabachi’s manga is known for sharp sword fights and a dramatic visual style, so fans will be watching to see how Cypic handles the first battle, the enchanted blades, and the quieter scenes between Chihiro, Hinao, and Char.
What the anime still has to reveal
The production has shown the central trio and several members of the team, but much of the cast remains unannounced. The anime has not revealed voice actors for the major opponents, the Hishaku organization, or the other sword users who expand the story beyond Chihiro’s first mission.
A full trailer would also clarify how much of the opening manga material the first episodes will cover. The character trailers are useful introductions, but they are not a substitute for a longer look at the action, music, pacing, and world-building.
For now, the cast is taking shape in a good order. Hinao gives Chihiro a connection to the sorcerer community, Char gives him a reason to protect someone caught in the conflict, and the April 2027 window gives the production room to finish the rest of the lineup.
