Brad Pitt is back as Cliff Booth in the first full trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. The film moves the character to 1977, eight years after the events of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and places him inside a version of the movie business that has changed around him.
David Fincher directs from a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino. Netflix will open the film in IMAX on November 25 before adding it to the streaming service on December 23.
What the first trailer shows
The trailer follows Cliff through studio offices, cars, nighttime streets and film-related jobs that can turn violent without warning. It does not explain every connection, but it makes the new setting clear: this is 1977 Los Angeles, and Cliff is still willing to enter situations that most people would avoid.
Several moments focus on the business around him as much as the action. Agents, actors and people working behind the scenes all cross his path. Gunfire, a racetrack and tense meetings suggest that Cliff’s work now reaches beyond being one actor’s stunt double.
The footage also keeps the dry confidence Pitt brought to the character in the earlier film. Cliff looks comfortable in dangerous rooms even when the people around him are not.
The new cast around Cliff Booth
Elizabeth Debicki plays Karen Crosby, Cliff’s agent. Scott Caan appears as television star Charlie Peters, Carla Gugino plays Toni, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays football star turned actor Roderick “Hot Rod” Harrison.
The announced cast also includes Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian. Groove and Tadena play the Verdusco brothers, two gangsters connected to the story. Netflix’s title page lists the full ensemble but has not published a complete guide to every supporting role.

Fincher directs a Tarantino script
Tarantino wrote Cliff Booth’s first movie appearance and returns as the writer here, while Fincher takes over directing. Fincher and Pitt previously worked together on Seven, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
The new film is a continuation of Cliff’s story rather than a remake of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Leonardo DiCaprio is not included in Netflix’s announced cast, and the trailer does not show Rick Dalton. The focus stays on Cliff and the people he meets in the later Hollywood period.
IMAX and Netflix release dates
The IMAX run begins November 25, 2026. The Netflix release follows on December 23. Netflix previously described the theatrical engagement as a two-week global IMAX run. The service has not announced a runtime, rating or a wider conventional theatrical schedule.
