Anime details
STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a Netflix anime adaptation of Part 7 of Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. The story takes place in 1890s North America and follows Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who lost the use of his legs, and Gyro Zeppeli, an outlaw with his own reasons for entering the race. They form an alliance during the first transcontinental horse race across North America, where the prize is $50 million. The race begins as a competition but changes when the riders encounter the Devil's Palm, a dangerous desert region, and a series of incidents that connect the competitors to hidden motives and a larger conflict. Netflix describes the anime as Part 7 of the Joestar family saga and lists it among its action, fantasy, and manga-based anime series. Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi direct the adaptation. Netflix released the 1st STAGE, a 47-minute episode, on March 19, 2026. The 2nd STAGE covers an approximately 750-mile desert crossing and starts on September 25, 2026, with one episode each Friday for 11 episodes. Netflix's official schedule describes the complete adaptation as a split-cour release across nine stages. New characters introduced in the 2nd STAGE include Mountain Tim, Hot Pants, and Funny Valentine. The first stage remains available on Netflix before the weekly second-stage rollout begins. Netflix streams the anime worldwide.
