Overview

Obocchama-kun REBORN brings back Yoshinori Kobayashi's comedy manga, which began in 1986. The new anime will air on TV Asahi's network in Japan in 2027. An exact premiere date, international streaming service and age rating have not been announced. Chama is the heir to a fabulously wealthy family. His extravagant spending and offbeat jokes draw his family and classmates into trouble. Chie Kōjiro returns to voice him, continuing the role she played in the original anime, which ran from 1989 to 1992. The new series will adapt manga stories that have not been animated before, alongside original stories supervised by Kobayashi. Green Gold Animation is producing the anime, with Shin-Ei Animation and Sony Pictures Networks India as production collaborators. TV Asahi says requests for more episodes after the original show's 2021 run in India helped start the project.
