Kaiju No. 8

Kaiju No. 8 follows Kafka Hibino, a kaiju-cleanup worker who still wants to join the Defense Force beside his childhood friend Mina Ashiro. When a small creature transforms him into the humanoid monster designated Kaiju No. 8, Kafka enters the force while hiding an identity that could turn his new teammates against him. Production I.G adapts Naoya Matsumoto's manga, with Studio khara supervising kaiju design and artwork. Seasons 1 and 2 contain 23 numbered episodes: the first follows Kafka's entrance into the Defense Force, while the second places him under First Division captain Gen Narumi as Kaiju No. 9's threat expands. The separate Hoshina's Day Off special is not included in that numbered total. The official site now lists both seasons as streaming and confirms that a Final Chapter is in production.
