Inherit the Winds

Inherit the Winds is an original historical television anime based on Yutaka Narui’s stage story. In Kyoto in June 1863, an injured fighter wakes at the Mibu Roshigumi headquarters without his memories. Sōji Okita tells him that he is Jinsuke Tachikawa, and Jinsuke begins life among the fighters who will later become the Shinsengumi. As leader Kamo Serizawa’s violent methods divide the group, Jinsuke must decide what loyalty and justice mean. Tomohiro Kawamura directs, Yutaka Narui writes the scripts, Fumi Ebina designs the characters and Shigeru Kishida composes the music. Live2D Creative Studio and Drive produce the animation. Daisuke Sakuma leads the voice cast, with Yuki Kaji, Aoi Yūki, Koki Uchiyama, Yuichi Nakamura, Yasuyuki Kase and Takaya Kamikawa. A two-week theatrical preview begins November 13, 2026, before the Japanese TV broadcast starts in January 2027.
