Doraemon

Doraemon follows Nobita Nobi, a kind but accident-prone schoolboy whose future descendant sends a blue robotic cat back from the 22nd century to help him. Doraemon’s four-dimensional pocket holds “secret gadgets” such as the Anywhere Door, Take-copter, and Time Machine. The gadgets may solve Nobita’s immediate problem, but his shortcuts often create a larger comic mess involving Shizuka, Gian, Suneo, and his family. The current TV Asahi series began with an hour-long broadcast on April 15, 2005 and continues as an episodic family anime. Stories move between school, home, neighborhood adventures, history, and the future, so viewers can usually follow an individual episode without a serialized watch order. Wasabi Mizuta voices Doraemon and Megumi Ohara voices Nobita in the current Japanese cast. This version adapts Fujiko F. Fujio’s manga and is produced by TV Asahi, ADK Emotions, and Shin-Ei Animation. It is separate from earlier Japanese television adaptations and from the annual theatrical Doraemon films. Shin-Ei’s official Japanese program page lists several local streaming services, but catalogs vary by country. The exact television episode total remains unset here because the official Doraemon TV library’s “1,500+ stories” count is not the same measurement as broadcast episodes.
