BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai

BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai adapts Keisuke Itagaki's BAKI-DOU manga and brings a new opponent to the Underground Arena. After Baki Hanma's battle with Yujiro Hanma, Baki and the other fighters are left without a clear rival. Scientists then resurrect a clone of Musashi Miyamoto, the famous swordsman from Japan's Edo period. Musashi enters an arena where weapons are permitted, changing the conditions faced by fighters who usually rely on hand-to-hand combat. Baki, Doppo Orochi, Goki Shibukawa, Kaoru Hanayama, and other martial artists prepare to test their techniques against him. The central conflict compares Musashi's swordsmanship and experience in armed combat with the strength and specialized fighting styles of the modern competitors. Netflix released the first 13 episodes on February 26, 2026. Part 2 arrived on June 18 with Episodes 14 through 25, completing the 25-episode adaptation across two releases. The second part continues Musashi's confrontations with the Underground Arena fighters and resolves the story introduced in the first group of episodes. TMS Entertainment produces the series, and Toshiki Hirano returns as director. The anime continues the Netflix Baki line after Baki and Baki Hanma. Its Musashi storyline changes the usual matchup by introducing weapons, historical combat methods, and an opponent whose experience comes from battles outside a modern arena rather than another form of competitive martial arts. Weapons remain part of the danger throughout the adaptation.
