Sesame Street is a children's show built around Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Grover and the other neighbors on the famous street. Stories use songs, comedy and everyday problems to help young children learn. Some episodes ask viewers to play along, while familiar short segments bring back favorite characters. The show has been on television for decades, and its newest seasons are part of a Netflix and Sesame Workshop agreement. Season 56 began on Netflix on November 10, 2025. Netflix also has a Sesame Street collection with older episodes and specials. In the United States, the new episodes are also available for free on PBS and PBS Kids, so a Netflix subscription is not the only way for US families to watch. The catalog and timing can vary outside the US; check the listing in your country. The official cover here is Season 56 art, not a poster for the newly announced film. On September 24, 2026, Netflix said its deal with Sesame Workshop will keep new seasons coming through Season 62. Season 57 Volume 4 is scheduled for November 23, 2026, and Volumes 5 and 6 are planned for 2027. Netflix also announced that a new Sesame Street film is in development with Sesame Workshop and Rideback. It has no announced title or release date yet. The film is a separate project, not another name for the next batch of TV episodes. Mecha Builders, an animated Sesame Street spin-off, is due on Netflix October 26.
