Roseanne follows Roseanne and Dan Conner as they raise their children in Lanford, Illinois. The family deals with money, work, school and disagreements at home, often with sharp jokes around the kitchen table. Roseanne Barr plays Roseanne, John Goodman plays Dan, Laurie Metcalf plays Roseanne’s sister Jackie, Sara Gilbert plays Darlene, Lecy Goranson plays Becky, and Michael Fishman plays D.J. Sarah Chalke played Becky during some earlier seasons. The show began on ABC in 1988 and ended its original run in 1997. The cast returned for a tenth season in 2018, but ABC canceled the revival after Barr posted a racist tweet about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett.
