Golden Axe

Golden Axe is a 2026 animated action-comedy series based on SEGA’s fantasy beat-’em-up franchise, which began with the 1989 arcade game. All ten episodes premiered together on Paramount+ on September 16, 2026. Ax Battler, Tyris Flare and Gilius Thunderhead reunite in the land of Yuria against the villain Death Adder, with inexperienced would-be hero Hampton Squib joining the party. Hampton was created for the television series; Chronos “Evil” Lait originated in Golden Axe III. Liam McIntyre voices Ax, Lisa Gilroy voices Tyris, Matthew Rhys voices Gilius, Danny Pudi voices Hampton and Carl Tart voices Chronos. Mike McMahan and Joe Chandler co-created the show and co-wrote its first episode; Chandler serves as showrunner. Titmouse handles animation. CBS Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios, Sony Pictures Television and Original Film are among the producers, with SEGA involved. The series is rated TV-14.
