Ever After High

At Ever After High, students are expected to prepare for roles inherited from their famous parents. Apple White is the daughter of Snow White and looks forward to her happily ever after. Raven Queen, daughter of the Evil Queen, wants to decide what kind of person she will become. Their choices bring other students into the argument. Briar Beauty, Madeline Hatter, Ashlynn Ella, and Hunter Huntsman each have their own family story to consider. Friendships and romances can clash with the parts they are supposed to play, making the school’s traditions personal rather than just ceremonial. The Mattel animated series began in 2013 with short web stories. Longer specials include Legacy Day, Thronecoming, Spring Unsprung, Way Too Wonderland, Dragon Games, and Epic Winter. The adventures grow beyond the school, but the characters’ relationships remain important to understanding their decisions.
