Overview
Crash Landing on You begins with an accident that turns an ordinary outing into a dangerous secret. A storm carries South Korean businesswoman Yun Se-ri into North Korea while she is paragliding. Army officer Ri Jeong-hyeok finds her, and his decision to conceal her presence makes her escape a problem neither can solve alone. Hyun Bin plays Jeong-hyeok opposite Son Ye-jin as Se-ri. Seo Ji-hye and Kim Jung-hyun also star. Director Lee Jung-hyo and writer Park Ji-eun combine a cross-border romance with comedy, family conflicts and the risk of discovery. The people helping Se-ri hide become part of the story, not simply obstacles between the leads. The 16-episode drama premiered on tvN on December 14, 2019. Start with Episode 1: the escape attempts, loyalties and relationships develop in sequence. This is a romance with suspense rather than a factual account of life on either side of the border. Netflix carries the series in selected territories; local availability and subtitle options can differ.
