Army of Shadows imagines a near-future Britain under authoritarian occupation. A former soldier known as Berry begins building a covert resistance network while an American intelligence operative named Jessie and a powerful state work to stop it. Ronan Bennett created the six-part thriller, inspired by Joseph Kessel’s novel and Jean-Pierre Melville’s 1969 film but telling a new story. Lisa Gunning directs every episode for Channel 4 and CANAL+. Two Cities Television and STUDIOCANAL produce. Paddy Considine, America Ferrera, Alex Hassell and Kit Harington lead the ensemble. Olivia Colman, Susan Sarandon, Leila Farzad, Luther Ford, Amara Okereke and other cast members joined during production. No premiere date has been announced.
