Overview
Lara Jean Covey has kept her crushes on paper rather than discussing them with the people involved. The letters’ unexpected delivery brings her private romantic life into the school day and changes her relationship with Peter Kavinsky. Her sisters Margot and Kitty, her father and her friend Christine remain part of the family and friendship story around the romance.
Lana Condor plays Lara Jean opposite Noah Centineo as Peter. Janel Parrish, Anna Cathcart, John Corbett and Madeleine Arthur play Margot, Kitty, Dr. Covey and Christine. Susan Johnson directs the adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel.
The film debuted on August 17, 2018 and begins the three-film Lara Jean story. P.S. I Still Love You follows it, with Always and Forever completing the trilogy. Starting here establishes why the letters matter and how Lara Jean’s expectations about romance differ from the relationships she actually has.
