Tenzing

Tenzing is a true-story adventure drama centered on Himalayan mountaineer Tenzing Norgay. Genden Phuntsok plays Tenzing, who must persuade expedition leader John Hunt that he belongs on the climbing team rather than serving it. Tom Hiddleston plays New Zealand climber Edmund Hillary, Willem Dafoe plays Hunt, Caitríona Balfe plays expedition secretary Jill Henderson and Thinley Lhamo plays Tenzing’s wife, Dawa. Jennifer Peedom directs from a screenplay by Luke Davies, with story by Peedom and Davies. The film follows the class tensions, competing ambitions, spiritual meaning and physical danger behind the Everest expedition. It opens in select theaters October 9, 2026, and streams worldwide on Apple TV October 16.
