Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Camp Half-Blood introduces Percy to other children of Greek gods, but he has little time to adjust. With his mother in danger and Zeus’s weapon missing, he travels across the United States alongside Annabeth, a daughter of Athena, and Grover, the satyr assigned to protect him. Mythological threats appear within the modern world as the group searches for answers.

Logan Lerman plays Percy, Alexandra Daddario plays Annabeth and Brandon T. Jackson plays Grover. Jake Abel appears as Luke, Pierce Brosnan as the centaur Chiron and Sean Bean as Zeus. Chris Columbus directs the first film adaptation of Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson books.

The U.S. theatrical release was February 12, 2010; the studio lists 119 minutes and a PG rating. Sea of Monsters continues this film version in 2013. The later Percy Jackson and the Olympians television series begins its own adaptation with a different cast, so it is not the next chapter of Lerman’s films.
