Best of the Best

Best of the Best is a 2026 Netflix coming-of-age comedy about Maya and Anjali, childhood best friends who join UCLA’s competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan plays Maya and Priyanka Kedia plays Anjali. The team’s chase for the U.S. championship brings rivalries, demanding rehearsals and a test of the friends’ bond. Hasan Minhaj plays professor Hamza Latif.

Minhaj co-wrote the film with Prashanth Venkataramanujam, drawing in part on their experience with South Asian college dance culture. Lena Khan directs. Netflix also lists Chaneil Kular, Ankur Rathee, Lilly Singh, Janina Gavankar, Sasha Bhasin and Saara Chaudry in the cast. The film runs one hour and 52 minutes, carries a U.S. PG-13 rating, and premieres on Netflix September 18, 2026. The official preview does not reveal the championship result.
