Animals is a 2026 Netflix crime thriller directed by Ben Affleck. Affleck plays Mark Kimball, a successful Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose son Denny is kidnapped. Kerry Washington plays his wife Abigail, and Christopher Woodley plays Denny. As the couple tries to raise the ransom, a fixer named Dayle warns that secrets inside their marriage could make the crisis even more dangerous. Gillian Anderson plays Dayle, with Steven Yeun, Adriana Paz and Luis Gerardo Méndez also in the cast. Affleck co-wrote the screenplay with Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray. The film is produced in partnership with Artists Equity, the studio founded by Affleck, Matt Damon and Gerry Cardinale. Netflix lists a runtime of 1 hour 48 minutes and a U.S. R rating. It begins streaming October 9, 2026.
