Venba follows a South Indian mother whose family moves to Canada in the 1980s. Cooking is the way into their story: meals connect a parent’s memories with a child growing up somewhere different. It is a single-player narrative game, not a restaurant-management challenge.

The cooking puzzles ask you to rebuild missing parts of a damaged recipe book. Working out the steps of a dish leads into conversations and scenes from family life. The dishes draw on South Indian cooking, including idlis, dosas and biriyani, while the music draws on Tamil traditions.

The official gallery shows both sides of that idea. Overhead kitchen scenes put the ingredients and prepared food at the centre; family scenes show the people those meals matter to. These are publisher-supplied images, not a step-by-step recipe solution. The current game also includes a Cookbook and an in-game radio.

Visai Games developed and published Venba. It first launched on July 31, 2023, for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. A macOS version followed on July 28, 2025. That later release belongs to this same game profile and does not change the original launch year.
