Valheim is an exploration and survival game for one to 10 players in a procedurally generated world inspired by Norse mythology. Players gather resources, craft weapons and armor, build settlements, sail between regions and defeat bosses to unlock new materials and recipes. The game entered Steam Early Access on February 2, 2021.

Version 1.0 adds the Deep North as the final biome in the planned progression, alongside new enemies, weapons, building options and over 50 achievements. Existing saves remain available, although new biome content generates correctly only in unexplored areas. Iron Gate recommends a new world for the fullest version of the updated progression.

Iron Gate AB develops Valheim and Coffee Stain Publishing publishes it. The full version launches September 9, 2026 on Windows, Linux, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, with full crossplay across every announced platform.
