Uncharted 4 is a story-led action adventure. You climb ruins, investigate objects, solve puzzles and move through combat areas. The rope adds another way to cross gaps, while tall grass gives Nathan places to hide before a fight. Optional paths hold treasures, journal details and conversations for players who look beyond the main route.
The trip is not one long battlefield. Quieter searches and conversations sit between dangerous climbs, vehicle scenes and chases. Nathan and Sam's relationship gives these changes of pace a personal reason, rather than making the treasure the only thing at stake.
Naughty Dog's original PlayStation 4 game launched on May 10, 2016. The later Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection brings remastered versions of this story and The Lost Legacy to PlayStation 5 and PC. That collection is a different release, not a second name for the original PS4 game.
