UFO 50 is a collection of 50 distinct games presented as if they came from an imagined 1980s game company. The pixel art and sound evoke that era, but the games are new designs rather than re-releases. Each title has its own rules, so the menu works like a shelf of games rather than a sequence of tiny bonus stages. Some can be played alone, while others support local multiplayer. You can try one game for a short session, return to it later, and move to a different genre when you want a change. The fictional release history also connects the games through recurring ideas and characters.
Mossmouth and collaborators developed UFO 50, with Mossmouth publishing the collection. It first launched for Windows PC on September 18, 2024. A later Nintendo Switch version does not change its original release year.
