Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2

The skating is built around tricks and score combinations. Airborne grabs and flips, rail grinds and other moves can be linked into one combo. A manual means balancing on two wheels while rolling; it helps connect tricks across flat ground. A revert turns the board as you come back down a ramp and can help carry a combo into a manual. Keeping the chain alive is the challenge, not simply reaching the end of a course.

The parks give you room to learn their ramps, rails and gaps before chasing a better run. The gallery shows an outdoor staircase, a large arena ramp, a schoolyard rail and the Warehouse interior, so you can see the different spaces used for skating. There are solo modes, local two-player competition and online multiplayer; the collection is not only an online game.

Create-A-Skater lets you build a custom skater, while Create-A-Park lets you make a skating space. Those tools sit alongside the rebuilt classic games rather than turning the collection into an open-world street-skating simulator.

Vicarious Visions developed the original collection, with Activision as publisher. It first launched on September 4, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC through the Epic Games Store. Steam received it on October 3, 2023 and also credits Iron Galaxy Studios. That later store release does not change the original year used here.
