Thief: The Dark Project Remastered

Thief: The Dark Project Remastered brings Looking Glass Studios’ 1998 first-person stealth game to modern hardware through Nightdive Studios’ KEX Engine. Players control Garrett, a master thief trained by the secretive Keepers, as he enters guarded buildings, searches for treasure and uncovers a larger conspiracy. Light and sound are central systems: bright spaces expose Garrett, loud surfaces can alert guards and special arrows can darken rooms or soften a path. The game rewards observation and avoidance more than direct combat. Garrett carries a blackjack, sword and several arrow types, while enemies can hear movement, speak to one another and raise alarms. The package includes the original Thief: The Dark Project plus the added missions, content and updates from the 1999 Thief Gold release. Three difficulty levels can change objectives as well as challenge. Nightdive has announced a winter 2026 window for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC. An exact release date and price have not been announced.
