Tekken Tag Tournament is a 3D fighting game built around two-character teams. Tagging is more than a visual change. A resting fighter can recover part of the red portion of the life bar, but calling that partner at the wrong time exposes the team to a punish. Throws, launchers, and tag combos reward players who understand spacing before they try long sequences. The PS2 release includes Arcade and Versus play alongside team and single-character options, making it easy to practice a pair without committing to a full campaign.
For a first session, pick one familiar fighter and one partner with a different attack range. Practice the tag button after a safe hit, then learn how to bring the partner in without handing the opponent a free launch. Use Practice or Versus to test one launcher and one tag combo before exploring the whole roster. Keep the reserve character's recoverable life in mind; tagging is strongest when it preserves a lead, not when it rescues a fighter after the opponent has already read the switch. This is the original Tag Tournament, not Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
