In Stray, a cat is separated from its group and falls into a city sealed away from the outside world. The streets are full of signs, rooftops, and robots who have built their own routines. Your goal is to find a route upward and reunite the cat with its family. The story is told largely through places, encounters, and the small drone B-12, which helps translate the robots' language.

You play as a cat rather than a person with a weapon. Jump between ledges, squeeze through gaps, scratch doors, and explore from a low angle. Some areas are calm places to investigate and talk to robots; others ask you to escape dangerous creatures. Puzzles usually involve finding a reachable route or using an object you discovered nearby. There are also quiet moments to nap or simply watch the city.
BlueTwelve Studio developed Stray, published by Annapurna Interactive on July 19, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Other console editions came later. Its official poster shows the orange cat against the city's red lights and carries the game's original title.
