Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order follows Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan hiding after the Empire's purge of the Jedi. When his identity is exposed, Cal joins a small crew and travels between planets to search for a way forward. His droid BD-1 helps him scan, heal and navigate. This is a standalone single-player story set after Revenge of the Sith; knowing that the Jedi have been hunted helps, but you do not need to have played another Star Wars game first.

The game mixes lightsaber fights, climbing, puzzles and exploration. Cal can block or deflect an attack, dodge when a hit is too dangerous, and use Force abilities as he relearns them. Meditation Circles save progress and let you spend Skill Points, but resting also brings defeated enemies back. Open BD-1's Holomap when a route is unclear: orange paths lead to unexplored areas, green gates can be opened now and red gates need an ability you do not yet have. The map helps you decide whether to keep exploring or return later. BD-1's Stim Canisters heal Cal and refill when you rest at a Meditation Circle.
Respawn Entertainment developed Jedi: Fallen Order and Electronic Arts published it first on November 15, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions came later; Jedi: Survivor is a separate sequel, not another edition of this game. The official original cover has Cal, his lightsaber and the native Star Wars Jedi logo, while the gallery shows Cal, BD-1, traversal and a fight in the actual game.
