Silent Hill 2 (2024) is a remake of the 2001 psychological horror game, not a sequel to it. James Sunderland receives a letter that appears to be from his wife Mary, who has died, and travels to the town where they once spent time together. Silent Hill is nearly empty and covered in fog, but James finds other visitors and frightening creatures as he looks for Mary.

The remake keeps the focus on exploration, clues, and puzzles while changing how James moves and fights. An over-the-shoulder camera replaces the original game's fixed camera angles. Bloober Team also expanded parts of the town, reworked combat, and added scenes. Weapons can help James survive an encounter, but searching rooms and understanding where to go next matter just as much.
Bloober Team developed this version and Konami published it for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC on October 8, 2024. The original Silent Hill 2 belongs to 2001 and should have its own separate game page.
