Saints Row IV starts with the leader of the Saints as president of the United States. An alien invasion quickly takes over the story, and much of the action moves into a simulated version of Steelport. Your character can run through the city, fight alien forces, rescue allies and use powers that make ordinary streets into a superpowered playground.

The game builds on the open-world structure of Saints Row: The Third but pushes its jokes and action much further. You can customize the Boss, use firearms and strange weapons, then unlock abilities such as high jumps and fast movement. Missions often shift between the virtual city and the Saints’ fight against the Zin. You can play the story alone or use online co-op. The original game is not the later Re-Elected package, which bundled additional content and changed the store branding.
Volition developed the original Saints Row IV for Deep Silver. It released in North America on August 20, 2013, for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The original ESRB rating in the US and Canada is M (Mature 17+) for Blood, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language and Use of Drugs.
