Mortal Kombat 11 is a fighting game built around one-on-one matches. Pick a character, learn the distance of their attacks and practise when to block before trying longer combinations. Scorpion, Raiden and other returning fighters have their own special moves. The game also lets you customize how fighters look and, in supported modes, choose abilities for a character variation. Its story brings characters from different points in the series' timeline together.

Start with one fighter instead of switching after every loss. Learn a few reliable moves, then watch what the opponent does after your attacks are blocked. A training mode gives you room to practise without the pressure of a match. Story mode is a way to meet more of the roster, while fights against other players test what you have learned. The series is known for violent finishing moves and blood, so it may not suit everyone. The gallery shows several fighters and attacks without pretending that a still image teaches exact button inputs.

NetherRealm Studios developed Mortal Kombat 11, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released it on April 23, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Later editions and add-ons brought more story and fighters; they do not change the original game's release year.
