Metroid Ravenous is a new single-player 2D Metroid action adventure for Nintendo Switch 2. After unknown attackers ambush Samus Aran and strand her on an unfamiliar moon, she falls into its subterranean depths and searches for a route through a hostile ecosystem and labyrinthine ruins.

Samus fights with beams, missiles and newly awakened Metroid instincts that let her devour staggered enemies and absorb their energy. Nintendo Japan identifies five Space Ninja assassins hunting her and says their confrontations shift the viewpoint behind Samus for one-on-one fights in complex alternate spaces.

The game launches January 28, 2027 with a physical standard edition, a Special Edition and three announced amiibo figures. The US listing confirms TV, tabletop and handheld play, Save Data Cloud, amiibo and linear-PCM surround support, plus HDR and 120 Hz output on compatible televisions. The developer, download size, exact performance modes, detailed amiibo rewards, campaign length, full accessibility options, voice cast and any DLC plan remain unannounced.
