Double Exposure returns to Max Caulfield, now a photographer-in-residence at Caledon University. Finding her friend Safi dead leads Max to attempt to rewind time, but instead she discovers a parallel reality in which Safi is alive and remains in danger.

The investigation moves between two versions of the same winter campus. Players follow clues, question suspects and build relationships across both realities while making decisions that affect the people around Max. Her new Shift ability changes the structure of the mystery from revisiting a moment to comparing different timelines.
Developed by Deck Nine and published by Square Enix, the game follows Max after the original Life is Strange. Its central appeal is a supernatural murder investigation with familiar character history; it is not a remake of Max and Chloe's Arcadia Bay story.
