Jet Set Radio is an action-adventure game about the underground skaters known as the GG or Rudies. As Beat, Gum, and their crew, the player moves through Tokyo-to on inline skates, follows DJ Professor K's broadcasts, and challenges rival gangs for control of city spaces. The goal is not simply to reach a finish line: each area asks the player to find graffiti spots, paint tags, and survive the response from police and other authorities.

Movement is the main language of the game. Grinding rails, sliding walls, jumping gaps, and chaining tricks help the player reach high or distant tag locations and create safer escape lines. Graffiti inputs are performed at the marked spots, so learning a route means learning where to refill spray cans, where to turn, and where a chase can be broken. New characters and stages expand the route options as the campaign continues.
For a first session, practice the spray input and basic grind before worrying about a perfect score. Look at the whole block from a safe platform, identify the tag order, and leave yourself a line back to open ground. Police pressure becomes more dangerous when the player gets trapped in a dead end, so use wall rides and rails to keep moving rather than stopping to fight every pursuer. This is the 2000 Dreamcast original, not Jet Set Radio Future or a later HD port.
