Gorogoa gives you a small grid of illustrated panels instead of a character to steer with a controller. At first, the pictures can seem unrelated: a person by a window, a shelf, a distant building, a piece of a patterned object. The puzzle is to discover how one picture can connect to another. You can move panels, look more closely inside one, or lift a picture away to reveal something beneath it. When two details line up, the scene changes and the story moves on.

There is little written instruction, so new players may wonder whether they are missing a menu. The pictures are the interface. Start by looking for the same object or shape in two panels, then try placing those panels next to each other. If a view looks too far away, zoom in; if a close-up has no obvious move, zoom back out. A panel can act like a window, a path or a layer that hides another view. The game is about experimenting and noticing visual clues, not answering trivia or solving timed challenges. Its hand-drawn world tells a personal story without explaining every feeling in words.

Jason Roberts created and illustrated Gorogoa under the Buried Signal name, with Annapurna Interactive publishing it. PC, Nintendo Switch and iOS versions launched on December 14, 2017; other platforms followed. The publisher’s own current site has inconsistent exact dates in some translated versions, so this entry uses matching Steam, Nintendo and App Store release records for the day. The official cover keeps the game’s native title, while five publisher-supplied screenshots show how the four-panel puzzle actually works.
