Florence follows Florence Yeoh, a 25-year-old who feels caught in the same routine every day. Meeting a cello player named Krish brings someone new into that routine. Rather than asking you to win fights or solve a difficult puzzle, the game lets you take part in ordinary moments: moving through a commute, sharing a conversation, getting closer and dealing with an argument.

Each short scene gives you a small action to do on the screen. You might move pieces together to complete a conversation or interact with an object in Florence's day. Those actions change as her relationship changes, so the way you play helps tell you how she feels. The hand-drawn panels, colours and music carry much of the story; you do not need to memorise a cast of characters or learn a complicated control scheme. The gallery gives a clear look at the drawing style and several of the different interactions.

Mountains developed Florence and Annapurna Interactive published it. It first reached iOS in February 2018, followed by Android later that year. PC, Mac and Nintendo Switch versions arrived in 2020. This profile records the original mobile release rather than dating the game by a later port.
