Adam Jensen protects a company developing advanced body technology. An attack on its scientists draws him into a wider conspiracy, in a world divided over mechanical body upgrades called augmentations. The story takes him through city streets, guarded buildings and conversations with people who may help or mislead him.

Combat usually uses a first-person view, with the camera changing when Jensen takes cover. Fighting is only one route: sneaking, hacking security systems and talking can open different paths through an objective. Upgrades let you build Jensen around the approach you prefer. The gold-and-black environments, detailed interiors and character conversations give the investigation its distinct look.

Eidos Montréal developed the game and Square Enix published it. The original North American launch was August 23, 2011 for Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This page covers the original Human Revolution, not the later Director’s Cut or its sequel, Mankind Divided.
