Death's Door

You see the crow from above while moving through linked outdoor areas and dungeons. Fights use a melee weapon, ranged magic and a dodge, so watching an enemy’s attack before rushing in helps more than pressing every button at once. New abilities and weapons also change exploration: a path that looks closed on the first visit may make sense after an upgrade. The game mixes short combat encounters, environmental puzzles, secrets and large boss fights rather than operating as a pure arena game.

Doors are the structure that ties the journey together. They take you back toward the reapers’ office and into different parts of the world; returning to an earlier area can reveal a route or secret you could not reach before. If you are new to this style of game, treat each new doorway as a landmark and check nearby paths after learning an ability. The official publisher description emphasises both the stolen-soul investigation and the dangerous creatures whose lives have stretched past their natural limit.

Acid Nerve developed Death’s Door, and Devolver Digital published it on Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on July 20, 2021. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions arrived on November 23 that year. The release date here follows the first launch; the later platforms are included without changing the original year. Its official cover shows the crow and several creatures under the native Death’s Door title.
