The Promised Neverland is a dark-fantasy manga written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu. It begins at Grace Field House, where Emma, Norman, and Ray discover that their apparently peaceful orphanage hides a horrifying purpose and plan an escape. The series ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020 and concluded after 181 chapters collected in 20 volumes. Its story mixes survival, mystery, strategy, and moral conflict as the children learn how their world is organized beyond the orphanage. CloverWorks adapted the manga into a two-season anime. For the manga's 10th anniversary, Shirai and Demizu returned with War vs. Peace, a 36-page one-shot set after the main story and scheduled for Weekly Shonen Jump on August 24, 2026.
